Please join Nonprofit Leadership Initiative (NPLI) for Human Resources 101, a comprehensive program designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of human resource management. This course provides a foundational understanding of human resources (HR) tailored to the unique needs of nonprofit organizations. Our session will cover key areas such as creating an employee handbook, recruiting new talent and onboarding, ensuring compliance with HR regulations, and more.
Who Should Attend:
This course is ideal for nonprofit leaders, managers, and HR professionals who oversee staff and want to build a solid foundation in Human Resources. It's also suitable for those new to HR in the nonprofit sector or who are looking to enhance their skills in managing people and fostering a supportive workplace culture.
About the Facilitators:
NPLI is happy to welcome back Jane Clark and Tricia Perkins from Lake Effect Human Resources and Law!
Jane Clark, J.D., is the Founder, CEO and Managing Partner at Lake Effect HR & Law, a firm devoted exclusively to representing and advising employers on all facets of HR and Employment Law. She has advised on employment law matters and human resources, payroll, and benefits administration on behalf of for-profit and not-for-profit clients through Wisconsin and the United States.
Tricia Perkins, SPHR, SHRM-SP, is a Senior Strategic HR Advisor with Lake Effect HR & Law. Tricia has 25 plus years of diverse experience in the Human Resource profession and is frequently retained by clients to align HR processes with the organization's culture, navigate difficult employee situations, conduct sensitive workplace investigations, facilitate mediations to improve workplace relationships and train staff on management, development and compliance.
Registration Fee:
- $20 per person for individuals within the NPLI service area (Outagamie, Calumet, Shawano, and Waupaca Counties, and Neenah/Menasha in Winnebago County)

$35 per person for individuals outside NPLI's service area (Green Bay, Madison, Oshkosh, Milwaukee, etc).

All registration fees are non-refundable. However, if an event is cancelled or postponed, the following conditions apply:
- Event Postponement: If NPLI postpones an event, registrants will not receive a refund of the registration fee. If you are unable to attend the new date, you may send someone in your place. All registrants will be notified via email immediately if an event is postponed.
- Event Cancellation: If NPLI cancels an event, registrants will receive a full refund of the registration fee. The refund will be credited to your Wild Apricot account for use towards future sessions. All registrants will be notified via email immediately if an event is cancelled.
