Registration opens November 13th!
Is your organization prepared for the unexpected? Join us for a free, three-hour roundtable hosted by NPLI, in partnership with the City of Appleton and Outagamie County Emergency Management (EM). This interactive session is designed specifically for nonprofit leaders who host large-scale events. Together, we'll explore how to build a practical emergency preparedness plan that protects your attendees, staff, and volunteers, no matter what challenges arise.
Through hands-on scenario-based exercises, participants will work in small teams to walk through real-life emergency situations and practice decision-making under pressure. Facilitators from local emergency services will guide the conversation, offering expert insights and actionable strategies to strengthen your organization's readiness. Whether you're planning a festival, fundraiser, or community gathering, this roundtable will equip you with the tools to lead with confidence and keep your events safe.
PARTICIPANTS WILL WALK AWAY WITH:
- A checklist or starter plan to begin building or refining your organization's emergency response protocols
- Actionable strategies for improving event safety, communication, and coordination
- Expert insights from City of Appleton and EM professionals
- Practice navigating real-life emergency scenarios in a safe, collaborative setting
- Connections with other nonprofit leaders facing similar challenges and responsibilities
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Nonprofit leaders within NPLI's service area who are involved in planning or overseeing public events, especially those that draw large crowds or take place in open or public spaces. If your organization hosts festivals, fundraisers, community gatherings, organized walks/runs, or any other large-scale events, this session will provide essential tools and insights to help you prepare for emergencies and protect your attendees, staff, and volunteers.
This is a space for nonprofit leaders to learn and have open dialogue. Attendance is limited to 50 people with a maximum of two persons per organization to provide time and space for authentic, peer-to-peer sharing.
